Why I HATE Twilight!

I knew before I read this article that it was something about Twilight, and I can not stand Twilight, when I was in high school, my friends were bigger Twilight fans then I was a Harry Potter fan. I honestly like the whole idea of loving someone thats different from you. However the fact that she flip flops from one guy to the other and how eventually she falls in love with one guy but then falls out of love story is really old and outdated. I personally was curious because I was always a Harry Potter fan and I never read the Twilight books, but my friends always talked about it (I believe they were even on some of those forums to) I actually watched the first movie. I think for the way she set it up and the way that she set the plot is good, but the fan reaction is a bit to much for this type of book.

Hate aside the fan reaction is crazy, it can get confusing theres Team Edward and Team Jacob shirts everywhere and you can get even Team Bella shirts. They even show up in shows or reference to the books. Its almost like a disease rather than a fan base. You could argue that when Harry Potter first came out that it truly was like a disease but not to this extreme. The Harry Potter people were less intense, less crazy about it than Twilight fans were. And thats why I HATE Twilight!

twilight essay

let me start this off by saying that I have read twilight. I didn't enjoy it. the plot was bad, the writing was worse. as much as i tried to look for a silver lining to justify how this book was compared to harry potter i just couldn't find one. the essay about twilight rings true with many of the thought that i had while reading the book. the entire time you have this shell of a main character whose only emotion is loving Edward. then you have Edward the the "perfect" man who is good at everything. both main character are so underdeveloped that it is painful to watch them imagine them interacting. the only real plot in the book was Bella wanting to have sex with Edward and Edward saying no, because he might kill her during sex. other then that the plot is an old cliché of poor girl and rich man fall in love, with the only change in the plot being that the rich man also wants to suck out her blood. somehow though with how bad this book was it has gained an atrocious amount of loyal readers who will wait out side of book stores to read the sequels. i haven't even mentioned the part of this book that bugs me to no end, in this book the author made vampires sparkle. yeah that right, the once completely bad ass, lords of the night, cold blooded killers who lived in coffins now sparkle in the sunlight. thank you for forever ruining vampires for my generation.

Why I Hate Firemen.

Having read Twilight (only the first book) at the behest of my fifteen year old girl friend (I was fifteen, she was seventeen or eighteen. Her fondness of the book certainly wasn’t the only red flag.) I was pretty appalled. It’s a story of christian sexcapades, redundant and contradictory throughout. Essentially there is a vapid, worthless girl who falls in love with a G.A.E (good at everything) vampire. Now this G.A.E.V decides to like her back because he can’t read her mind, unlike every other human he’s come across. The female lead, Bella is literally the most vacant, not flushed out character I have ever read. She’s good at being bad at everything, and falling down a lot, but she some how gets some dreamy G.A.E. to like her, even though he’s a virgin and has never dated a girl before. He’s also a pedophile, hence him being like 100 years old or some shit. She’s 17.
I apologize if that previous paragraph was hard to follow, but that’s how ridiculous the book is, it’s toeing the line of having this easily-fillable character who wants to get boned by this scintillating god of unoriginality. It’s laughably and ironically pedantic, though having been written by a devout fucking mormon. It’s a culmination of repressed hormones and the inhibited lusts of a sheltered forty-something. And mind blowingly, gut wrenchingly, it somehow gets lapped up like ambrosia by girls that are my own goddamn age. I agree with the basic idea of the author in the rhetorical analysis, but I don’t see how they could write such a politically correct response to the subject without bleeding out of their eyes. This book is so outrageous it makes me feel guilty for not instituting a mass eugenics program targeting anyone related to anyone who has heard of this book.
Had this book been written by a good author who wasn’t a religious robot, it would have been so dark and twisted, it probably would have been banned. Honestly, read a quote:
"Look at yourself, Bella. Then tell me i'm not a monster."
Wounded, shocked, i followed his instruction unthinkingly and then gasped.
What had happened to me? I couldn't make sense of the fluffy white snow that clung to my skin. I shook my head, and a cascade of white drfted out of my hair.
"Why am i covered in feathers?" I asked, confused.
"I bit a pillow. Or two. That's not what i'm talking about, Bella."
"You bit a pillow. Why?"
"Look, Bella!" He took my hand. "Look at that!"
Under the dusting feathers, large purplish bruises were beginning to blossom across the pale skin of my arm. My eyes followed the trail they made up to my shoulder, and then down across my ribs. I throbbed a little.
"Oh," I said.
-Breaking Dawn
Because this shit is alright to put in a book for thirteen year olds. The worthless girl wakes up with amnesia, covered in bruises next to her much older husband. Oh, and then she gets pregnant. The “protagonist” is a completely empty character that any idiot girl can fill and then mentally enact their subdued lust for vampire ass with.
So after reading this book, the first book of a series in which a 104 year old Vampire fucks a 17 year old girl out of consciousness, finishes up, and subsequently gets her pregnant (It’s cool though, because they get married first.), I promptly tore out the pages, found a can of gasoline, and made myself a funeral pyre from which I was unfortunately rescued.

Twilight Essay

Unfortunately I have to say that I am totally a Twilight fan, and to make it worse, I was one of those obnoxious fans who went to the midnight selling of "Breaking Dawn." What can I say, I'm a sucker for a good romance story. But I loved those books before they became popular and they just sucked me, I could not rest until I had read them all, and until I have seen all of the movies.
I thought it was interesting reading this essay because some of the information I never really thought about, but when outlined with the essay makes complete sense. For instance Bella is made to be as plan as possible so that the reader can essentially insert herself into Bella's life, the essay author called her character a "vessel" and honestly an appropriate comparison. Bella was definitely a character that made it easy to relate to in many ways. What girl can't say that she doesn't want some gorgeous, and all around perfect guy to come and sweep her off her feet? Now as nice as it was to read and fantasize about such fairy tales I am honest enough to know and admit that Bella's story does not happen in real life. The rich boys play with the rich girls and everyone just sticks to their own social groups.
As a girl it was easy to be drawn to the "Twilight" series, I liked the romantic escape and to be honest I liked the total ridiculousness of the vampire vs werewolf thing. Who wants to deal with an everyday boring life when you can be trapped a heart moving fantasy fiction, that just lets you forget about your boring everyday life.
I also thought it was interesting that the essay article came right out and said that yes Bella was under deserving of Edward but that "the two are ideally suited to each other" it's actually a relief that someone flat at said that. Maybe it's cold of me to believe that stories (excluding the supernatural angle) life Bella's just doesn't come true. I can't really explain why but I just don't believe in the rich perfect boy falling for the under privileged girl, who isn't all that beautiful but more of a plain "Jane." The real world just ins't as pretty as a story. Not to mention the only reason Edward was "attracted" to Bella in the first place was because 1) her blood smelled extra delicious to him and 2) he couldn't read her mind, so he could actually have a meaningful conversation with her not knowing everything instead of having to be bored with everything she ever thought about.
Trying to look at a less pessimistic angle of "Twilight" I like to think that maybe it can give some people (mainly girls) some hope and confidence in their selves. That like plain old Bella they too will have that exciting and sought after romance, with the perfect guy. Now I'm not saying that they should expect to end up with some super gorgeous male model, but whose not to say that there isn't an amazing guy out there who would be an awesome person with a lot to offer a relationship. I don't believe in fairy tale romances but I do believe in true love, just in a more realistic manor. I think this article did a really good job at picking apart "Twilight" for what it was really worth, it was refreshing...and that's coming from a true "Twilight" fan.

Why I (Still) Want a Wife

Throughout the years, women wasn’t seen as someone to have a job or rights to do things like men do and this is something that everyone knows now. They were seen as someone to have children, someone to cook, someone to do all the chores at home and someone who doesn’t deserve any rights. That’s how women were seen over the past years. Now the life that a woman has changed dramatically to what they used to have. In the essay “I Want a Wife”, Judy Brady is basically describing the ideal women that every man wants. Although women now a days do a lot of stuff that men do and they still aren’t equal to men. For example in Saudi Arabia if a woman is accusing a man. The court won’t listen to the woman unless is there is two women. In Saudi two voices of women equals one voice of a man. So in some parts of the world there is still the inequality between men and women. Along with that said, I believe that Brady is getting tired of the life she has. In the reading she explains that she wants a wife herself so she could go back and do a lot of things that she can’t do now as a wife and a mother. She wants to have a wife that could take care of the house, listen to her, care for children, and make her happy when she is sad. That’s what Brady wants in a wife.

Twilight Essay

I for one never want to read the Twilight books. I think they are in plain words stupid. I also would never compare Stephenie Meyer to J.K. Rowling ever twilight is nothing like Harry Potter except the sci-fi part and if that is why she is the "next" J.K. Rowling they ever sci-fi author would be the next J.K. Rowling. People every where are always talking about twilight. People want to be vampires because of it which is weird because you basically want to be a cannibal but instead of eating people you want to drink them. I don't understand at least if you are a wizard you can be completely awesome which is just my opinion but this is my blog post so that counts. Edward Cullen is not hot. Bella needs to grow up honestly. If you read and reread these books over and over again and forget the rest of your life then you seriously need help. How can people forget their entire life because of a stupid book don't get me wrong I love reading and most of my books I have read several times because they are really good. But if you are a mother and you neglect your children for a book about a vampire and a werewolf you are a horribly mother. There is no such thing a cool person a cool popular kid in school is just an ass kissing bully and that's that. If a guy falls in love with a girl then to him she is the best girl and vice versa. Social status has nothing to do with who you love and if you do it isn't real love. Bella isn' even popular. No one talks about her because she is basically describe her as a boring, plain, piece of shit. She is not better than anyone and neither are any of the boys. In some ways they may be but no one is better than anyone else. I went to the Twilight Guy blog and I couldn't understand if he was for or against. It was basically like a fan page but some of the things were just comical. It makes no sense. In my conclusion twilight is stupid.

Rhetorical Analysis of Twilight

I have to say that it was a pretty interesting article that I have read on Twilight and knowing a lot of stuff about this book that I didn’t know much about it before reading this article. Even though I am not a big fan of fiction books like many people are and I have seen people who are obsessed with these kinds of fiction books. Along with that said I have not read neither of the two books that was mentioned in the article like Harry Potter and the Twilight. What I found interesting in the reading and didn’t know about Twilight was that. Twilight has more female readers than male readers. It wouldn’t be a surprise to me because it just might be of the good story that’s been written by the author or just the romances that goes on with Bella and the Vampires or the wolves. This might be the case to being the success of the book and the movie in my opinion. Another interesting thing that I had found after reading was that Bella’s character was putting into the simplest form as possible. The reason for that was as it was mentioned in the reading was so any female readers who read this book could put themselves on Bella’s shoes or imagine themselves as being Bella as they read the story. What I found not so pleasant in the reading was the comparison of the two different books like Twilight vs. Harry Potter. I believe these two different books shouldn’t have been compared. Because both of these books were a success hit amongst the fiction readers worldwide and was enjoyed too while reading. For example like the Harry Potter was a different book than the Twilight it was mostly about these young teenagers going on a adventure and getting involved with things and getting in trouble as they went on into this adventure so basically this book was kind of written for everyone. Which the Twilight was mostly targeted towards the female audience then the male audience. In fact it was like that with the Twilight series. I had found more female readers talking about it than male readers. I believe Harry Potter and Twilight shouldn’t be compared at all to each other because each book has its own good things and bad things to it. So on that note it would be wrong to compare the books to each other in my opinion.
